Group Ride Rules

For the safety of the group, and to minimize disruption to other road users, we’ll have to abide by a few simple rules:

  • Helmets must be worn whilst riding at all times
  • We have to stay as a connected-pairs group and you must stick with Chris even if he flats or hallucinates at hour 23.
  • Average pace we are aiming for is ~25km/hour.  We may have sections of trying to push this pace a little if Chris falls behind due to more lights than expected,  or traffic etc.
  • Lead rider pair must stop if the light turns yellow before their front wheels cross the stop lines.
  • At the roundabouts group will have to yield to traffic already engaged in the circle.
  • Two simple hand singles to be use by all:
  • Hand straight out indicating direction we are turning or moving to.
  • Raised fist to indicate an unanticipated controlled group stop.  We should all be able to see the lights.
  • No TT bars

NIGHT RIDERS

  • Working front and rear lights good for duration of your intended support effort.
  • Reflective strips strongly urged.  I will be able to provide numerous reflective ankle strips, stickers and vests.
